Religion and Democracy in Argentina Religious Opposition to the Legalization of Abortion

This article analyzes the ways in which religious actors opposing legalization of abortion adjusted their arguments and public actions to Argentine democratic culture between 2018 2020. Data were collected through a qualitative research approach by conducting in-depth interviews with activists, studying position statements secondary sources, analyzing pronouncements interactions on social media platforms. Religious agents conceived democracy as rule majority that they intended promote means secular arguments, demonstrations spaces, construction electoral alternatives. Marginally, categorization feminism conspiracy theories use dilatory legal maneuvers ran counter logic expansion rights. According empirical evidence gathered, showed increasing adjustments language criteria inherent life.
